Dr. Curtiss graduated from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine with honors in research. During her medical education, she worked for the Helfgott Research Institute conducting research on naturopathic support for cancer patients. She also coordinated the High School Outreach Program, providing health workshops to Portland’s youth. She was awarded the NCNM Limelight award for her efforts in community education on topics of Naturopathic medicine.
Dr. Curtiss completed a 3-year residency in a busy practice with her mentor, Dr. David Greenspan. During that time she learned the art of functional medicine, supporting the body’s own systems to reach a healthy balance. Her experiences allowed her to develop a specialty in hormone balance and fertility support for men and women. As a mother of two boys, she has a strong passion for helping couples create healthy families using natural treatments and positive lifestyles.
Motivated by her passion for community wellness, Dr. Curtiss enjoys educating people on strategies for making improvements in their health and lifestyle. With the ultimate goal of preventing illness, she devotes much of her practice to teaching patients techniques on improving their sleep, energy, stress responses, nutrition, and exercise.
Watch for postings of her next community workshop at the Herb Shoppe.

The human body is an amazing, beautiful creation, and I find humbling its complexity and adaptability. Through massage I seek to support the body’s capacity to heal itself and better interact with the environment in which it lives.
I believe that living in pain, whether due to aging or other conditions, is not inherently necessary. Managing pain through medication can be a useful tool, but long-term pain management through medication should be used as a last resort. Visceral manipulation, lymphatic drainage and deep tissue massage are effective treatments to reduce pain. I work with clients using these modalities, along with conversation and education, to address pain and physical discomfort. Working together, we can identify treatments that work for you.
I earned my LMT certification in 2008 from East-West College. My formal training has focused on Visceral Manipulation, Lymphatic Drainage, Deep Tissue massage, Reiki and of course Swedish massage. I’m also a bookworm and am reading books on myofascial release, soft tissue spinal manipulation and other books that help me to learn and grow as a person and as a practitioner.

Since graduating from Ashmead College, School of Massage - Vancouver WA Campus in 2005, obtaining my licensure in WA and OR, and becoming a Certified Aromatherapist, I began working part-time as a massage therapist in the evenings while my day-time job was working in an accounting office in a medical facility. I eventually made the leap of faith by letting go of my day job and by the fall of 2007 have been working full time providing massage therapy and essential oils treatments.
I love providing massage therapy and essential oils treatments. It brings instant gratification to me to be able to help others achieve a better level of health, wellness, and quality of life be it through relaxation (stress relief), pain management, health improvement or wellness education.
I incorporate a variety of massage techniques to customize the treatment session according to each individual's needs for optimum results.
